HIMAP

We will be using a tool called Hierarchical Modeling and Analysis Package (HIMAP), developed at the IOWA STATE University to analyze reliability and availability of the systems. I would like to bring the usage of the tool in the course as soon as possible.

We have two versions of the software. One works on PCs under windows operating system and the other one works under Unix. If you have access to a window 95/98/NT machine, please send me a note through e-mail stating the operating system you have. You also have to write in the note that you will use the tool only for the class purposes and no other commercial purposes

If you do not have access to PC, I will be able to put copies of this software on some machines in computing labs.

If you are an off-campus student and do not have access to a machine (I find it hard to believe but....) then we will have to develop an absence-of-hardware fault tolerant system.
