EE 185 is the first class in Electrical Engineering. The class covers important general aspects of engineering (and electrical engineering in particular), as well as problem solving. Its main objective is to encourage students to think creatively and develop the skills required in an academic environment.

Critical thinking and systematic learning are consciously followed and discussed in the setting of the three stages of cognitive learning.

Exam topics

Homework 9 is posted and due on 04/18/2011. This will be the last homework.

The final exam is scheduled (by the University) for  Monday, 05/02/2011, 7:30 am to 9:30 am. The exam will take place in the regular classroom (Coover 1011). The exam will be open-book and comprehensive.

The make-up exam will take place in class, on Monday,  04/25/2011, and will be comprehensive (just like the final exam). The grade you get in the make-up exam will replace all of the quiz grades which are lower than the grade of the make-up exam.

There will be a quiz in class on Monday, 04/18/2011. The quiz will cover complex numbers and applications to electrical circuits.

Homework 8 is posted and due on 04/04/2011

Due to limited attendance and after a democratic vote (5 to 4, with about 8 abstaining), the quiz is rescheduled for Wednesday, 03/23/2011
